Humpty Dumpty

While we're still on the topic of the Knit-O-Graf sweaters, this one was another favorite. Mine was knit in brown with a rusty red brick wall as I recall. I wore it for my Grade One school picture. I can date it by the toothless smile I wore along with the sweater. It was another of Grandma's creations of course. Thinking back, I don't know how she kept all eight grandchildren in sweaters, mittens, hats and scarves. But being near the beginning of the lot, I probably had a larger share than some of the younger ones. I think for her, the phrase 'if I'm sitting, I'm knitting' was probably true, for she always had her knitting bag next to her chair. That and a small shelf filled with McCall's Needlework & Crafts magazines, each more wonderful than the last!
